Snow Farm is the place to go for snow experiences, unlike any other mountain. We have a dedicated Snow Fun Zone, filled with tubes and snow so you can slide down hills, build snowmen and start a snowball fight!
We also have cross country skiing and snowshoeing for the more adventurous, but rest assured both of these activities are easy for first-time snow bunnies.
Located 45 minutes from Wānaka and 1hr 10 minutes from Queenstown airport, your adventure is just around the corner.

Cross Country Skiing
Choose from a full day, half day, overnight or multi day trail pass. Packages available, including rentals and lessons for all abilities
Lessons
If you're new to cross country skiing or want to hone your skills, book one of our group lessons (classic style), private lessons or skate lessons with our experienced instructors.
SNOW FUN ZONE
Great for families, younger children and those new to the snow. Our Snow Fun Zone features a tubing hill and snow play area for building snow creations, making snow angels and throwing snow balls.
overnight Huts & Bag Transfers
Stay overnight in one of our 4 cosy huts. Overnight trail passes and rentals available, as well as bag transfers to Meadow and Musterers Huts.
Snowshoeing
Grab some snowshoes and head out for a walk to a hut for lunch or go off piste.
Half day and full day packages available including trail pass and rentals. Get the dog a dog trail pass too, they'll love it!
Backcountry
Back-country ski touring pass to access the Pisa Range using our River Run Trail (not needed for season pass and trail pass holders)
Café
In 2024, we will have a small café with barista coffee, hot and cold beverages and a small array of pastries, slices and snacks. If you are after a big lunch, feel free to bring your own lunch. We have indoor and outdoor seating with a log burner indoors.
Chains
All vehicles that visit Snow Farm are required to carry chains. Snow chains can be rented from Snow Farm and collected at the bottom of the Snow Farm access road. Your rental car hire company may also have them, as well as local service stations and hardware stores.
Summer Activity
During the summer, our cross-country skiing trails turn into mountain biking and walking tracks perfect for both newbies and the well-seasoned mountain biking enthusiasts.
Dog Information
Dogs are welcome at snow farm all year round. Hire some snowshoes and take them for a walk or take them out skiing with you. We have day passes and season passes for your furry friends, as well as designated off leash and on leash areas.
(We don’t allow dogs at huts sorry!)
